We are pleased to announce...

We are pleased to announce the birth of our son Finn Riley Snyder (or is it Preimesberger?)!  Finn was born at 2:38pm this afternoon.  He weighed 7 pounds even and was 20 3/4 inches long.  We can't decide if he looks more like mom or dad.  He came out with curly brown hair, but some of his facial features may be more like dad's. See the photos to decide for yourself.  We are also pleased to report that he has been very stable to this point.

We started out the day thinking that we would have a natural delivery.  Initially, everything was going well, but at about 1:30 pm the physician decided that Finn needed to come out.  A c-section was performed, Finn received an APGAR score of 9 (yeah!) and he was on his way over to Children's.  The rest of the afternoon consisted of x-rays, a very thorough ultrasound of his heart, and generally getting him settled in his new home in the NICU.  Mom is doing very well recovering and had a chance to visit Finn for a short time.  The cardiologist stopped by and gave us an update on the diagnosis.  I'm sure that we will learn even more tomorrow.

I am probably forgetting to say a lot of things, but it is getting late, it's been a crazy day and I plan to be up for rounds in the morning.  We will try to cover the rest in later posts.  Before I go, I just want to say that Kelly and I have been absolutely amazed at the outstanding staff at both Abbot Northwestern and Children's.  They have gone above and beyond in so many ways today!
